THE ALTRUIST

Dedicated to selfless acts of life, Seun spends much of her time contributing to the betterment of society and the communities that she serves. She believes that God has provided her with the platform and experiences to motivate others towards excellence, even if it is merely providing a listening ear to someone in need.

THE ATHLETE

TRACK & FIELD

Although the sport of basketball is her first love, Seun became dedicated to her development as a track & field athlete in 2004, during her senior year in high school. She decided to attend the University of Houston as a walk-on athlete and eventually earned a full scholarship. She went on to become a Cougar 60m hurdle record holder, Midwest Regional 100m record holder, Conference USA Female Athlete of the Year and NCAA All-American.

After her collegiate career ended in 2009, Seun went on to compete for the country of Nigeria as a 100m hurdler and 4x100m runner. She became a 3x Nigerian National champion, African champion, and All-African Games champion. In 2012 she made her Summer Olympic debut at the London Games where she competed in the 100m hurdle rounds.

BOBSLED

Sochi 2014 Games was the first time that Seun watched the winter Olympics, primarily because she was supporting fellow track & field athletes that had switched to the sport of bobsled. In watching, she was encouraged to join the sport and after a series of try-outs she was selected as a member of the 2015-2016 USA Women's Bobsled team as a brakeman. She competed on the North America's Cup circuit and debuted as a World Cup brakeman in Park City competition that season.

In the summer of 2016 she was inspired to start a bobsled team for the country of Nigeria after learning that the country had no winter Olympians, and continent had never been represented at the Games in that sport. In December 2016 she co-founded the Bobsled & Skeleton Federation of Nigeria. She became the driver and captain of the Historic Nigerian Women's Bobsled team, which lead the way for the first class of winter Olympians for the country of Nigeria.
